Weigh-In: Week 22 & Weekend Adventures

This week's loss:  -1.2
Total Loss to Date:  -63.4

Still not a great weight loss....only 1.2 pounds.  Not sure what is going on but I have to figure out how to get past this hurdle.  Any suggestions??

Well, my weekend certainly didn't help me to get past the hurdle!!  We went away overnight to Seneca Allegany Casino with some friends to see the comedian Ron White.  LOTS of fun!!  I was really good at first--I only had a couple light beers (3 points each) the whole time and I preplanned my dinner to stay within my points.  I was doing soooo well!  But then we had been hanging out in the casino and it was about midnight....we had gone for an early dinner before the show.....and we were starving!  I ended up stuffing 2 pieces of greasy, disgusting pizza in my mouth!  I won't lie--it was delicious!  And it wasn't even good pizza!  It was the sort of crappy pizza you would expect to get in a casino at midnight!  I felt so incredibly guilty!!

Love me some slots!  No, I didn't win...

Drinks with the hubby

This is what moms who have escaped their kids look like!
Just kidding, we love them dearly but sometimes you just need a break!!

And then yesterday we had family over for Father's Day.  Again, I did great all day.  Made mac salad and did a separate one for me with light mayo.  Ate chicken sausage while the rest had regular italian sausage.  Had no alcoholic beverages.  But then dessert....and I had a small piece of chocolate cheesecake!  What is my problem??  Again, the guilt started...

Then this morning I get on the scale...and my weight is DOWN!  WTF!!  I think my body is playing a cruel trick on me.  My weight better still be down on Thursday because I need a good week after the last couple crappy ones!!  I am going to be extra good between now and then....and increase the walking....here's hoping!

  1. First of all! Congratulations! Again, you lost and did not gain. Yes, it isn't the number that you wanted to see, but you are still moving in the right direction. Think about it...you have lost over 60 lbs girl! That is awesome! Becoming a healthier you is just all about finding the balance. What works, what doesn't work. Because you calculated much of your meals throughout the weekend, you didn't do as much harm as you thought. So in that you should be happy. I know when you don't see as big of a loss as you wanted it can be disappointing but take heart in the fact that you are still losing. You state that you have been walking and that you will increase that. That will certainly help. As you get through hurdles and find that your weight loss is slowing down you probably have to increase your cardio (which you will do if you increase walking) and possibly add in some strength. These are actually great milestones to reach as it lets you know that you are on track. It really isn't anything that you have done, but more that your body is used to what you have been doing and has adapted and now it is time to add in some more strategies to reach your goal. Cardio only burns the immediate calories, whereas strength training burns throughout the day. I have downloaded a couple of apps to my iPad that I do in just 10-15 mins in the morning. They are through Runtastic. One is an ab trainer, one is for your butt, one is legs, one is just doing squats (which take like 30 secs) and the last one is push ups (yes, I still do the majority of these from my knees-lol). You may be ready for only one or two of these. They work from easiest to hardest. There may be other apps out there too that may work better for you, but just adding in those 10-15 mins a day can help tremendously in strengthening and toning up your legs and abs. I haven't found one for arms yet (besides the pushups), but I am sure that there is one out there. The key is to never give up when you think that you will never reach your goals. You will!!! You can do this! You have already laid the ground work. You just have to keep pushing through. Do I have bad moments? Absolutely! Sometimes every day is a struggle, but as long as I keep the focus in front of me of who I want to be I can always come back from those moments. That is the key! As long as you always come back and get back on track. You can do this! I have a lot of faith in you. Love ya!
