Weigh-In: Week 19

This week's loss:  -2.2
Total Loss to Date:  -57.6

Hoping to hit 60 pounds soon!!  :)

Summer is going to be tough!  Now that the weather has gotten nicer I am missing being able to have my alcoholic drinks all the time.  My next door neighbor and I like to sit out by the pool (or IN the pool!) in the evening and have a couple drinks and now if I want to do that I need to "save" the points.  I've decided that my drink for the summer is going to be Corona Light with a lime.  It's just 3 points so it's not too hard to save 6 points till the end of the day to have a couple.  Is it sad that I am thinking I can eat only fruit for breakfast since it is zero points and use those points on booze??

The other problem with summer is going to cook outs at other people's houses.  When it's at my house I can control what I eat much easier.  Tonight we went to eat at my in-laws.  Cheeseburgers and hot dogs on the grill and a variety of salads....all with mayonnaise.  Sigh!  I ended up not eating much all day so that I could have dinner--1 hotdog with no bun (8 points), 1/2 cup potato salad (6 points), 1/2 cup broccoli salad (5 points) and an ear of corn (3 points).   And LOTS of water!  All I had up to that point was 6 points so I still stayed under but I hate doing that.  Too many points to eat in one meal!  And now I only have 4 points left for a snack tonight!

  1. I feel your pain! I have heard people who eat before they go to an event or even take something (if you are to bring a dish to pass) that you know that you can eat. That way you stay away from the majority of the foods that you know you should not have. I have also heard of people who will eat what they know they can have prior to going. It is all in how you handle it. Although starving yourself throughout the day so that you can eat those things at the end of the day is never a good idea. It really messes with your metabolism. Summers are definitely a learning curve right up there with the holidays at the end of the year. You have to find out what is right for you. Many times, I will up my workout for the day to include weights, that way I am continually burning calories throughout the day as my muscles heal. My biggest issue is that I sit most of the day for five days out of the week and being completely idle like I am is not good for me when I am trying to maintain the weight loss. This is usually about the time that I think I have it all together and then the weight just all comes back on. So far, I have been maintaining okay. We shall see how the summer goes though. You are never alone in your quest for a healthier you, but I know that you can overcome this obstacle. Just take one day at a time and if one day you mess it up, it is okay! You can get back on track the next! Remember you are the one in control. Don't let the food or the process control you.
